The Proposal

Catherine and I both had a great trip to Italy. One night in particular stood out. We met some of the local restaurant keepers and befriended some other tourists who too were from the states. All shared a marvelous dinner full of delectable Italian dishes, homemade wine -made not far from our table setting- as well as laughs that will make us grin for some time. On that night, with my family ring in hand (graciously given to me by my Grandmother Ramirez) we traveled back to the Hotel Central to continue the laughs and good times.

Once we arrived we made our way to the roof top where a patio sits in the middle of a full blown garden with lights strung from the trellis. I nonchalantly pulled Cat to the side asking if I could speak with her. There and then did I pull out the family ring and drop to one knee and ask her to be my wife.

She was in shock. But the look in her eyes answered before her mouth could. Rachel (Catherine’s sister, who is not only a great tour guide, but also a great friend), Chelsea (a long time friend of the Gordon sisters), Bill and Jamie (a great couple who we shared good times together) were there for my proposal, but were kind enough to give Cat and I the moment and left us to share it together.

On May 26th 2009 Catherine H. Gordon agreed to be my wife.

Together we are officially announcing our engagement to all of our friends and family and would like to share what we can of our great trip with you.  We have compiled a picture gallery (mind you we are not photographers) of our thoughts and memories we were able to capture while we were in such a beautiful country.  The gallery, titled “Italy 2009″, can be found here.  The pictures have no description yet, but have been uploaded to share what we experienced with for you.

We appreciate everyone in our lives that knew at some point this would happen.
